Athens Network of Collaborating Experts (ANCE) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization based in Athens, Greece. It was established in 1996 by a group of Greek experts in international development cooperation and technical assistance and today has succeeded to create an extensive network of collaborators and volunteers for the promotion of sustainable development and the support of vulnerable social groups in the European Union and the developing countries.
ANCE is collaborating with other non-governmental organizations, local development agencies, local authorities, Universities and research centers, and the private sector in Greece and abroad, for:
- combating all kinds of racism, xenophobia, marginalization and social exclusion
- the promotion of democracy and the protection of human rights
- the implementation of income generating projects for the weakest and most disadvantaged groups of society
- the strengthening and empowerment of vulnerable groups through education and training
- the improvement of women ‘s access to the labor market
- the support of entrepreneurship and sustainable economic development in areas of Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America
- environmental protection and preservation of the cultural heritage.
- the sensitization of EU citizens on worldwide problems
Since 2003, ANCE has implemented more than 20 projects in countries across Europe, Asia and Africa In the field of Education and Training,. These projects were oriented towards subjects as technical and vocational education and training (TVET), adult education & lifelong learning (LLL), cultural education, capacity building or even teacher training. Knowing that education and training are means to achieve social and economic inclusion of vulnerable groups, it is for ANCE a priority to give these populations the tools to bettering their life.
